Door County Adventure Rafting specializes in fun and fast boat tours around the waters of Door County from May through September. We offer our tours on Zodiac Hurricane 733s which are tough and durable boats used by professional and military operators around the world. They are known for handling large seas for their size and are very stable due to the inflated collar around the boat. We offer small group and private tours which gives you a more unique experience on the water. Being on a small boat also allows us to get closer to the sights you want to see and provides you with amazing views of the shipwrecks around the peninsula.
Obsidian
Our tour boat, Obsidian, is a Zodiac Hurricane 733 rigid inflatable boat (RIB) or rigid hull inflatable (RHI) and has a generous capacity for 12 passengers, ensuring an intimate and personalized experience. It was originally used by the US Secret Service in the 1990s, which speaks to its durability and high-performance capabilities, and later it served as a dolphin and whale watching boat in the picturesque waters of Oceanside, CA. The boat also comes equipped with ample storage for bags, shoes, refreshments, and anything else you might want to bring on the tour, making it convenient for a day of exploration.
We offer two different tours on this versatile boat, taking you to the stunning Cave Point County Park or to Cana Island, where you can admire the historic Baileys Harbor Birdcage Lighthouses. Both tours provide the unique opportunity to see fascinating shipwrecks along the way, all while navigating through just a few feet of water, allowing for an up-close view of these underwater marvels. Being on a smaller tour boat not only enhances the adventure but also ensures you can see many incredible sights that aren’t accessible on the larger boat tours in Door County, providing a more engaging and memorable experience.

Belafonte
Our tour boat, the Belafonte, is a Zodiac Hurricane 733, which combines performance with durability for an unparalleled boating experience. It is 24 feet long, rendering it the perfect size for small groups of up to 12 passengers, allowing for an intimate and engaging journey. Powered by a quiet and efficient Honda 225 horsepower, 4-stroke outboard motor, this vessel promises a smooth ride, minimizing noise and enhancing the enjoyment of our surroundings. Zodiac Hurricane Rigid Inflatable Boats are renowned for being the toughest of their kind, constructed to military and professional standards, ensuring an experience that is both safe and exhilarating. The thick fiberglass hull is complemented by an inflated tube made of Hypalon, which significantly contributes to the boat’s stability, allowing it to glide gracefully over the water. This unique design makes the Belafonte extremely safe and stable, enabling it to confidently handle bigger waves and heavier seas, ensuring that you can enjoy exploring without worrying about rough waters.
Originally built as a dolphin sightseeing boat operating in the scenic waters around Hilton Head, SC, the Belafonte has found a new home in Door County, WI, where it has been eagerly embraced by locals and tourists alike. Shortly after arriving, the Belafonte received several upgrades, including a high-quality stereo system that enhances the atmosphere on board, along with a state-of-the-art Humminbird 798ci Side Imaging Sonar. This incredible technology provides us with the ability to uncover several wrecks that lie too deep for the naked eye to see merely by leaning over the side of the boat. The sonar scans the bottom of the lake, producing a detailed digital outline that reveals shipwrecks otherwise hidden from view, some lying at depths of up to 200 feet. This exciting feature not only adds an element of discovery to our trips but also enhances the educational aspect as we share the history of Door County with our guests.
With our fun and thrilling tour boats we are able to get you up close to the sea caves at Cave Point, zoom out to the most remote sights in Door County in Death’s Door Passage, or get you over the top of historic shipwrecks you never knew existed, creating a memorable outing that showcases the best of the natural surroundings in Door County.
